    back on the tina,
with all the ignition problems sorted ( hopefully ) its time to sort the other big problem, the gearbox.

ever since i built the car the gearbox has been a reel pain so its out with the old and in with the new. the new being a mazda rx 8 5 speed, i have made the adaptor plate and i have a rover flywheel at the machine shop being machined to fit the rx 8 ring gear.
now because the car was built around the old gear box its not going to be easy to do the swap so today i started cutting the old gearbox mount out and fabricated a new one . with that done the chassis rail was next, its were the starter motor wants to be so i have made a new section up and welded it in. im just hoping i dont have to remove any of the floor.

i will get some pics on tomorrow.

Some electronic ignitions (Mallory for example) need ballast resistor in series with the coil at all times. This limits the current at low RPM and protects the module. Particularly true if you have some hi-energy style coil.

should not need one as its a none ballast coil, a friend of mine said he fitted some sort of power amplifier box but i have no idea whay that is.
