    Or if he just did a crap / unfinished job of the rebuild anyway ?

    Least he didn't cut the brake lines on his daily as I've seen happen over debts before

    On further inspection it doesnt appear the cam is worn.i cycled the engine a few times and all the lifters ,lift the same amount.

    Also popped the heads off and nothing wrong there.

    Were wondering now if the original builder loosened some of the rockers and poured water into the engine,afer he and customer fell out.

    If you have wiped the lobes on the cam it will have to be stripped and washed it will be full of metal everywhere !

    definitely take the heads off, if nothing else its a good way to decoke the motor & freshen up the valve faces. Bores can be checked for wear and any ring damage at the same time. I'm around next week if you want me to pop over one eve.

    funny the intake,that i took off wasnt on very tight.

    so i could of been that.

    prob is now,is do you take a chance,or while its this far stripped,do we just take the heads of and put new gaskets on to be safe.

    think thats the best way to procede,as its very little otlay and time involved.

    be a ****er to build the whole truck up,to have to strip it all again

    yes was going to try real steel.owners here tommorow so he can go round and get the parts.

    That does not look too good.

    Real Steel probably just as cheap as Summit now with the poor if you were going to change cam.

    I have this spare if interested. Brand new in box as I've changed plan and I'm going big block now. Also have some spare small block engines and big blocks too if you get stuck

    That looks like a headgasket as well then Needs full strip is nothing obvious when head removed as always possibility of cracked block.
