Sounds like the owner is the perfect client and will be rewarded with a great van in the end.

My day job involves working with computers and you can always tell when people don't understand how much work is involved in a 'simple' job.

The two phases I hear the most are "just" and "this shouldn't take you long".

    Cheers, Paul.

Thanks.ill have to check but its around 550 to 600 hrs now.owner added a few bits on from when it first come come in.even with all the kit ,stuff takes time.also a lot of work in the bits you dont see.

As much work in the mounts for the rear bumper as there is in the bumper itself

I have nothing hut admiration for those who build at home.its a mamouth undertaking. expecially if you only have a day a week, then you need the tools and the right part.

Thats prob why theres so many unfinished projects out there.

I have started to book cars back in that i done rolling chassis for 5 or 6 years back, so they can be finished.

I get something like this every couple of years

Im always wary of spiraling costs on other builds as it can mount up real quick

That said, the labour bill for this wasnt to bad.with the change from 20 k he can still have a decent holiday.

Nobody – My apologies, as I’ve been a lurker on your various builds for years.

So, it really is about time I posted a reply and said what amazing work you do.

I also found this post really interesting…

As you clearly know what you are doing and have a lot of car building experience under your belt.

Which means 500 hours of your ‘full’ time would translate into years for most ‘part time’ home builders.

Note: I wouldn’t be able to come close to your build quality, no matter how many hours I worked.

Looking forward to seeing the van complete.

    Cheers, Paul.
