I thought about the v8 swop but I really want it to have an old period British saloon car racer look rather than a hotrod look , so its the triple carb wide steel wheels look for now .

LOL Lodge plugs thats a blast from the past I spent part of my childhood in Rugby, Thats where Lodge Plugs were made I think my Auntie worked there I still have a Lodge spitfire plug somewhere.

Car looks very original Good to see you are going the hotted up original engine route I still think a small block V8 would go lovely in there late model 302 roller motor converted to carb for a period correct look

Love it Ray, but as Neil says I'd be very tempted to put a small block Ford in it, especially over there.

made some progress , buffed out the old original paint & cleaned up the chrome , got it running & driving good, got the original radio to work , could use a better speaker grille a washer pump for the dash & some decent rear light lenses , working towards replacing the front & rear screen gaskets since they came with the car dump the wheels &clean up the inside , found another old picture of my dad & me at the derby when his 58 highline was brand new .

Know what you mean Ray, Zephyrs ,Cresta`s seemed huge when I was young , but by todays cars even in the UK they are small , I was surprised when I compared the weight of the Cresta against a modern car , it weighed the same as a Ford Focus
