Made some brackets for the ford focus drop links and tact in place.
I jacked the near side up and watched the offside mirror the movement, as far as I can tell there seemed to be no deflection forward from the anti roll bar centre mounts only rotating movement, Only driving it will tell whether there is a difference.

Hi all, thanks for the views but I like to keep my builds mainly pictures as that's how I like it, you can always pm me to stop this turning into a discussion board, that's one of my pet hates when you look at someone else's build and the discussions take over the actual build.
    Cheers Vin

hi vin, why can't you hang the roll bar brackets off of your main chassis hoops just before the bar turns forward. even if the brackets have to angle out slightly from the chassis rails to meet as you say a straight bit of the bar it'd make the bar much more effective. that's about on the bar where the factory brackets would be by the looks of things.

Vin. Conduct a simple test by using a jack (or any lifting device) on one of the wheels and see what happens at not only the opposite wheel but also to the anti-roll bar at the bushes clamping it to the chassis, you will see the anti roll bar flexing from the bush out to the wheel (and that is just a waste) there will be some resistance to rotation but not what the ARB can actually transmit. The purpose of the ARB is the same as your cars original torsional spring and that was clamped at it's pivot point (end bit fixed to inner end of wishbone).
In a nut shell the best pivot points are those nearest the wheels. And yes once did the calculations (30 yrs ago pre interweb) to work out for a given torsional bar and a given level length what the Lbs/inch load/force at the end of the levers when twisted, and fabricated the levers and mounting brackets to suit, although never installed it (it's still in the garage somewhere).

I was thinking that the action of the lever would push up causing the other side pull up.due to the torsion of the bar, if I was pushing it forward instead of the rotating move ment then I would say yes, also if it was locating the bottom suspension arm then it would definitely have more movement from the inner pivot, but I will have more tension than if I had none.
Also working with parts not designed for the car I am trying my best to locate both jaguar antiroll bars with the space on the car, where the straights are on the bar, where it possible to mount from the chassis.
    Cheers Vin

My thought as well , it will try to bend up rather than transfer rotation
