Ballast Resistor - Pi - DAC2043
standard stuff for early Rovers
looks like the rover v8 opus module ?
i have a new ballast so will give it a try.
what is that 69 ford,
Hi Chop, had one of these on my Cortina for years - no problem
Some electronic ignitions (Mallory for example) need ballast resistor in series with the coil at all times. This limits the current at low RPM and protects the module. Particularly true if you have some hi-energy style coil.
should not need one as its a none ballast coil, a friend of mine said he fitted some sort of power amplifier box but i have no idea whay that is.
Does it need/has it got a ballast resistor fitted?
sorry to say but car wont be at the nats this year, things have not gone to plan. having an issue with the car keeps blowing ignition modules, it will run for a few days then pop the module, put in a new one and run for a few minutes and do the same thing. its completely done my head over the last few weeks so im going to cover it up in the corner and crack on with the fastback while i try and get the bottom of the problem.
if all goes well over the next few weeks i am planning being at the nats this year with the cortina,
