    Thanks for the info. However impatient Aries that I am went with a tried and tested VX Astra column , no slide only tilt though.

    i've borrowed a 2000 range rover for a few days and that has a tilt/tele column.

    Ford focus is my choice, fully adjustable and has a pair of under dash uj's which are the perfect length ot go through the bulkhead on a swivelling flanged bearing which can be at any point so as to miss the engine. Also useful for BIVA requirements. Easy to mount as you can see I have just used some 1" x 2" box with welded threaded inserts which will mount to the under dash frame.

    Only downside is the headlamp dip and main is double pull needing a latching relay so I will swap stalks for Mondeo ones

    Suggestions for steering column

    Looking for an upper column section with tilt and shorten / lengthen facilities . Preferably scrap yard availability .
