had the same thing a few months back on the mrs ford ka,
i couldnt get the thing to pull to one side on the way back from the station, so pulled the pads out cleaned, and copper greased them, checked and cleaned the outside of the pistons. etc etc..
even rechecked the tyre pressures.
took it back and the **** never even checked it...:****er:

Scottie, I think this is the new way for garages to make more cash from mot's. The last two cars I have taken to the local place have failed on "insufficient brake readings". One was a Porsche I have had in storage for a customer, and on the way back to the yard I thrashed it and the brakes are brilliant. When I took the other car in(Golf) and was told the same,I noticed all the cars on the ramps were getting pads and discs. Easy job for apprentice mechanics to do and easy to charge planty on.
I questioned the condition of their rollers and subsequent read outs.
The guy thought I was joking.
Doubt I,ll be back.

daily mondeo failed on front brake imbalance, brakes feel good with no pull to either side got it up on stands and none have any binding or anything ,any MOT guys make sense of the brake info, the "27" under max imbalance is in red so i guess thats the problem, both discs and pads are also good
