Thanks Rog , I thought it sounded dear. I went from Harwich to Holland and back just with the camper and it was 270 return.

The camper and trailer measure 58foot!!! Even booked as a camper it aint cheap , I will be shopping round (remember Iam a Yorkshireman)

You cant beat a good road trip

720 is expensive Wayne, I went Dover/Calais last week ('kin rough) with a similar but slightly shorter rig and it was around 200. Make sure that you book as a Motor Home and Trailer and not commercial.

When we went in S/Gas we did a group deal with the ferry company, if I remember right it was ask and you get it sort of deal (we ran decals), no big problem.

Definately go in convoy, we all met at the cheap beer wharehouse in Calais, loaded up and left from there.

We are planning to go , it will be our first competative european event.
Sponsorship is a numbers game , try talking to the person who makes the decision at the company you are approaching.
As Carl said dont go to the obvious companies , its a bigger task sometimes than you think.
We are also looking for sponsorship , which is a constant thing , sometimes its easier to look for services or better deals on something rather than financial support.

Ultimateley we would like to do the european tour , I darent tell you how much I worked that out to be

Good luck with the sponsorship , hope to see you in Germany

im sure its tax deductable if its advertising ie stickers or signwritten etc,
    advertising a company,producf etc
id try to find a comp that you could hand out stickers, samples ,flyers etc to the crowd to advertise a product in germany,as i said doing something for them in return for travel costs,
its hard work but if you dont try ....

13th and 15th of Aug Si

Cheers for the advice Carl, certainly makes sense to do it as group. The Pro ET Schemes a credit to you (and Charlie) . Your right in what you say. To date I've done OK with product sponsorship, but it's getting interested parties to part with cash. I'm told that for a business, sponsorship is tax deductable as a marketing activity ?. Is this correct in your experenice with cash sponsorship ?

having ran the sponsorship scheme in pro-et for 5 years,i know this is going to be a hard one ,in a ressesion as well...dont go for the obvious spark plugs etc everyones done these to death, and approch companys with what you can do for them not what they can do for you..
a few of pro-et are thinking of going ,maybe a good idea to gang together and raise sponsorship as a whole, companys might like that idea better ,good luck hope this helps,

    Idea's for Sponsorship ?

Not sure how many will have seen on Eurodragster but they've added Super Pro as a class at the Nitrolympix at Hockenheim. Ever since reading it, it's struck a chord with me as something I just have to do, taking my car across to Hockenheim, the home of German F1 and running my altered as part of this amazing event just can't be passed up. Lifes changing for me and I reckon next year will be my last season runnng the car for some time due to other commitments,

The issue as ever, will be cash to compete. I estimate it'll cost me 500 ish in ferries and fuel to get the car over there and i'm trying to drum up some sponsor interest to make this happen. If anybody has any suggestions, ideas or companies to approach or if anybody can help out personally, I'd be most grateful to hear from you. It's just the travel costs we're looking to cover so any thoughts or suggestions on reducing these cost would also be appreciated.
