Having finished the Medusa herself & the python, it was time to add in the lettering & background. The Medusa name was sprayed in silver with black & pale blue highlights & the background was sprayed with scales sprayed in HOC passion purple. In ordinary light it just looks like a black guitar, but as the lights catch it you can see the purple scales.

Once fully cured, I can flat down the lacquer & cut it back. I'll post up some pics of the finished thing once it's done

    cheers...Nige

    Medusa guitar

I recently started doing a Medusa themed guitar for the my mate that owns the Celtic guitar I painted. Here's some in progress pics of it.

having repaired & primed the guitar I set out the artwork on it, here's the basic design.

Still a bit of work to do to the python such as adding his mouth & shadowing, but it's almost there

The Medusa is almost finished here, just needs some of the snakes finishing off & some fine details to her body.

Next it's on to the Medusa lettering & the background, which is probably going to be a black base with a dark burgundy/purple scale effect. Should hopefully be able to get it pretty much finished over the weekend. I hope he likes this one, as his brief was" I want snakes"

    cheers...Nige
