    We have been using AN fittings that have a push on barb for the hose with success. This is the way a lot of the US has gone. The hose will not come off, don't confuse it with jubilee type stuff. The hose is a dedicated type that does not have the external braid. I have become a bit disillusioned with the external braid as on a road vehicle it will rub on anything it touches until it has sharpened it enough to cut the hose. To avoid this clamp it often and even cover it.

    I meant the fixed part that tightens into the nut,there`s a small hole in it and it looks like ball bearings in there and i thought the hole could be for oiling.

    ......probably should have mentioned, if you order your hose from them they'll make them up for you too.....but now you know how to fit them !

    no the nuts dont run on bearings.

    they are a bugger to get on and fit, just takes a bit of time but once its done it looks good.

    I got the fittings through from speedflow, and i have to say there service is second to none,and they are of a very high standard.Are the nuts actually running on bearings?Anyway first time I`ve ever fitted one and what a sod that was.I actually thought I`d bought the wrong size.Using a cutting disc in the angle grinder is definately the way to go when making off an end.Once I`d got the braided line into the nut it went together alright,but getting it in there!!!I really do want to get the whole fuel line finished properly now,those fittings just look so good.

    with the race car, we use it for good measure plus we have it apart quite a bit and NPT threads are a pain in the arse if you have them apart often, especially ally fittings into cast iron or steel into ally.
