I replaced the breather hoses behind the intake manifold on one and it cured it.

i have had this issue on both a Mondeo and a Vauxhall, both of which showed up as low fuel pressure readings in the fuel trim section of the obd. One was the fuel pump and the other was the filter material at the end of the in-tank pump was clogged. changed the fuel pump on one and simply cleaned out the other respectively. from memory I think the fuel pressure was down to either 15 or 25 psi cant remember exactly. for a carb car this would be fine but modern fuel injected systems work on higher pressure and when it drops it dies. sometimes you might be lucky that it just goes into limp mode. One other thing to mention in Mondeo is they don't run good on the wrong engine oil, too thick or old and the hydraulic tappets don't close fast enough which leaves it lean at times and this can and sometimes does make them cut out or hard to start. again from memory im sure its 5w/30 I know its as thin as ****

Same thing happens. I've disconnected the idle control valve and upped the idle. It's better, but still does it.

Could be many things, but maybe brake servo, try pulling up with out using the brake pedal , just hand brake. Worth a try.

    Mk3 Mondeo cutting out issues.

Got a mk3 Mondeo 1.8 petrol that cuts out when coming up to junctions/roundabouts. I have pulled the inlet manifold to check for cracks etc leading to vacuum leaks. Idle control valve replaced with new. Airflow sensor removed and cleaned (will replace). All vacuum hoses checked. MAF cleaned. Butterfly valves in inlet are fine. Is there anything else I have missed? Really starting to give me the hump.
    Ta muchly, Robin.
