made some progress , buffed out the old original paint & cleaned up the chrome , got it running & driving good, got the original radio to work , could use a better speaker grille a washer pump for the dash & some decent rear light lenses , working towards replacing the front & rear screen gaskets since they came with the car dump the wheels &clean up the inside , found another old picture of my dad & me at the derby when his 58 highline was brand new .

Know what you mean Ray, Zephyrs ,Cresta`s seemed huge when I was young , but by todays cars even in the UK they are small , I was surprised when I compared the weight of the Cresta against a modern car , it weighed the same as a Ford Focus

funny how they seemed like a big car , when I was kid riding around in my dads & sitting in my place amongst all the 50,s yank stuff it looks pretty small, right now I,m proper fed up , been waiting about two weeks for two front bearing grease seals to arrive from Blighty , nobody seems to know where they are so now its sitting on the lift dead in the water can't bleed the brakes or put the front wheels back on , frustrating .

That's very tidy on the underside , original with no welding , great project and unusual for over in the states , they share a lot of lines with their American cousins

I have a box somewhere with a lot of those pink Lodge spark plugs, we used to use them in Villiers engine bikes when I was a kid

i,ve been thinking about that but trying to keep my brain focused on keeping it in one running driving piece for the time being , i reckon these must be the original plugs i,ve never seen any like it over here

have all the brakes done now & gas tank back in , strange car the odd shows 14,000 miles & I know its been off the road for the best part of 20 yrs, the engine does,nt look like a 14,000 mile unit but it runs like a Swiss watch & the plugs are pink ceramic called lodge & they stay made in England which leads me to believe they are the originals , I,ve never seen a plug like it before all the pedal rubbers look like new boot floor mat looks perfect, I,m leaning towards it being original miles but no way of knowing either way I like it except I cannot find inner bearing grease seals anywhere over here rock auto has them listed but not available , I took the shoes in to be relined the guy asks what kind of a car is it ,when I told him a ford zodiac he says a what never heard of it !cheers.
