Maybe if this forum costs more to support than it brings in, it would be cheaper for the owners to let it die . . .

I don't think it's particularly fair that people should be directed to Facebook to get around this site's problems. There are few things I'd like to have less than anthrax but a Facebook account is one of them.

If the site is going to be susceptible to problems it really needs to:
    a) implement a system for helping its members rather than bidding them sip from the blessed grail of Saint Zuckerberg for the resolution of their ills
    or
    b) resolve its problems that seemingly no other website, even amateur-run ones, seems to suffer from.

I realise a lot of the work that the moderators do behind the scenes goes unappreciated because no one knows they're doing it. Would it be worth occasionally posting updates of how talks with Canada are going for the reassurance of members?
yup hats off to the mods but it doesn't look like they get much help from the ones above !!!!!!! they haven't even looked in on this thread with a reply yet !!

A mate of mine gave up trying to join RnS yesterday, the I’m not a robot selection thing wouldn’t let him past even with both of us on it. He gave up after more than twenty attempts and isn’t bothering now

I've never had a problem with passwords.

If you can't get on contact me via facebook & I'll get it sorted for you.

Security is not the Canadians fault, but a worldwide tightening up required by the authorities - so eveyone needs to comply - but i do agree its caused so many issues.

As for special symbols etc - why is it so hard? If you password (for instance) is "moparboy" then it no longer complies. All you need to do is change it to "Moparboy1!" and it will comply - simples.

I don't need to advertise as my diary is booked for a year but im still paying just to have my trimshop thread on here !!!!!!!!!!
if it wasn't for the fact ive put so much in to it id be off to facebook but I really don't want to do that !!!!!!!!! I remember when you put a for sale advert on in the morning it was at the top of the page and by the evening it was at the bottom !!!!
if the new Canadian owners were taking care of this site they should be reading this and giving a response so lets see what happens !!!!!!!!!!

I have only just been able to get back on with Mark's help. Same frustration and almost gave up, what was the best site on the web being killed off, very sad.

I totally agree with all of the above. I almost gave up a few weeks ago when I was trying to sign in. Complete nightmare and very frustrating. This is why, once I'm finally in, I stay signed in even though I may not be on my PC and very often, I'm not. Hacking into my email account (which has been done a couple of times in the past by someone (not on here)) was probably easier for them to do than it is for me to get in here.
