Not quite old enough for the bus pass yet, but looking forward to getting something from the government for free. Then I'll spend all day on the bus.

    Another one from East Anglia

Hi, I started off with a scooter in 65, then got into rods by joining The Con Rodders, in South East London in about 66 or 67,I know Maurice Takoor was a member at this time, but cant remember much about who else was a member at that time. (things get a bit cloudy, once you reach the old git stage). About this time, I also joined the British Hot Rod Association, and remeber going to the club meetings over at White Horse Lane, near Crystal Palace football ground. That was when we used Duxford, for drag raceing, before Santa Pod. Anyone remember the Allard Anglia? When the Lawman team, came over from the states, I got a ride up the strip, in the Charger, that was a realy impressive ride.
I then got into Vanning, in about 79, being a member of Orwell valley, then in 1980, Insanity Vans, As well as the runs in the UK, as a club, we used to go to Europe about 4or 5 times a year.A lot of friends were made, in these years, and many of us are still friends today.
I got back into rods again, when I joined the N S R A in 93, and I'm still a member today, I'm also a member of the Zoom club.A lot of the Zoom club members, know one and other from the vanning days.
Christ I feel old, looking at all those distant dates.
Hope you all had a good Christmas, and have a good new year.
