Having grown up always wanting a hot rod I have finally taken the plunge an bought a glass bodied 32 Roadster highboy. From the one drive I have had so far the car seems to run nice. Certainly starts on the button and braking is surprisingly good and even, despite being a traditional drum set up. I am very tall so I probably look like a tank driver mind!
I look forward to getting to a few shows and meets in the sunshine over the weeks to come.
I am lucky enough to already have a modern Z/28 and a few other toys, which I get about in. All of which are black, so I am playing with the idaa of having the 32 painted black over the winter, so if you know of anyone in the Essex area who is an excellent painter, but also has the mechanical skills to take an absolutely mint car apart (as the chassis rails are white and the components are all red) and then reassemble to a very high standard please let me know. However the red is a change and nicely done, so maybe it will grow on me and I will keep as is.

Off the Xmas card list
Way too much work just to change the colour , just drive and enjoy
I'm a grown up member now !
Wrapping? Decals instead? Repainting this whole car would seem such a shame!

Love the Roadster. I agree with Kev (but then again..I always do) because I have a similar problem with a car I bought last year. Not keen on the colour but the chap I bought it off did an almost 'better than factory' job of painting it so it would be a massive job of re painting. The colour has started to grow on me and as you say, yours may grow on you perhaps. Get yerself out there and enjoy it.
I think that is good advice.
The car is lovely and the paint has a really nice finish. At the moment I want to just get used to and enjoy driving and running a hot rod, which I have never done before. Also getting to some events and meets. I will keep an open mind on the colour in the interim. Red is no bad colour for a hot rod. I will make a decision at the end of the summer.

Nice buy, looks fine in red IMHO. But if it were mine I'd mask up and paint the just white chassis rails, matching red or black, the red body would look better that way.
I'm a newbie !

Stick with red. Blacks are a dime a dozen. Put that in a row of 10 black ones and watch where people go to look..... There's a reason they call it "resale red"...………..nice ride...…….

Thanks for all the comments. If I kept with the red paint but wanted to get the chassis rails painted body colour from the white they are now who would you recommend in the Essex area to do the work?
Dave Haskell would be your man, he's just down the road in Manor Park (although there is a fair old queue to get in at the moment). You'll appreciate that you'd have to completely dismantle the car in order to do it and paint the firewall also. His number is on his website:-
