    CoolMk 2 zodiac could,nt resist !

my first mistake was going to look , but never been able to resist a mk 2 zodiac plus i,ve been chasing this car on & off for over 20 yrs, my mate bought it first from the original owner , tried to buy it from him & he sold it to a big british ford collector in LA , tried to buy it from his son when the dad died & missed it , saw it sitting on a lot in one of the tv cars programs & could,nt trace it , then i just happened to get talking to the current owner a kiwi about 2 yrs ago & it was,nt for sale he was going to restore it gathered a few parts & never went any further found out he wanted to sell it about three weeks ago & went to see it mainly to see how it looked compared to when i first saw it 20 odd yrs ago MISTAKE , walked away owning it , progress so far , all new brake parts, new clutch master & slave, gas tank out cleaned coated & going back in tomorrow , already had it running, runs like a swiss watch underneath is rock solid & never been welded , bonnet has some rust in the corners & three of doors need a little bit of work other than ts a solid old thing , paint is original, interior is rough form sitting around for yrs mainly out in the sun i would like to put some disc brakes on the front at some point but for the time being i,m just going to bleed out the brakes try a few different wheels i have laying around & drive it as is , the kiwi had the original wheels powdercoated & put new tires on it so he could push it around easier , last i needed was another project but oh well . have all the brakes done now & gas tank back in , strange car the odd shows 14,000 miles & I know its been off the road for the best part of 20 yrs, the engine does,nt look like a 14,000 mile unit but it runs like a Swiss watch & the plugs are pink ceramic called lodge & they stay made in England which leads me to believe they are the originals , I,ve never seen a plug like it before all the pedal rubbers look like new boot floor mat looks perfect, I,m leaning towards it being original miles but no way of knowing either way I like it except I cannot find inner bearing grease seals anywhere over here rock auto has them listed but not available , I took the shoes in to be relined the guy asks what kind of a car is it ,when I told him a ford zodiac he says a what never heard of it !cheers. i,ve been thinking about that but trying to keep my brain focused on keeping it in one running driving piece for the time being , i reckon these must be the original plugs i,ve never seen any like it over here
