A 1960 Zodiac,
Started out as an 'Ultra Rare' (So I'm informed by Kev at ZMS) '59/ '60 floor change car, based on the lack of any shift mechanism on the column and the existance of a clutch pedal.
In 1986 she looked like this...
In the best tradition of Custom Car captions.... Open Wide...
This is the 302 that eventually went into Phil Toppin's Pro ET Blown Pop.
It was replaced by the 289 that's in there now, literally gas axed out of a Cougar
When I bought the car it had been blown over in high build primer in an effort to cover up the tired paint and get it shifted and the plan was to just repaint it and tart it up a little..
That went out of the window when a conversation went like this..
"I've always wanted a Gasser"..
"I have a straight tube axle ready to fit, bring it round"..
So the car became this:
The wheels have been replaced with a set of slots and Jonny 69 has done a sterling job on the bodywork.
Hopefully it'll be finished before Old Warden but It's not going to get rushed.
Just to give an idea of the period that it's being built in the spirit of, these are the seats... :-)
And finally I'd like to thank Vault-Tec for the sponsorship - Prepare for the future
