Here's a mucho shortened version of my project restoration.
It had gone to seed over a few years and needed a tidy up to say the least.
1960 Ford MKII Consul roof chopped by me way back when I lived in London circa in the 70s 80s.
Whilst doing a sheet metalwork apprenticeship I parked it at the welding bay fire escape and set to work. LOL
Cut the roof off and took it inside, extended it and welded it back on. :-)
Installed a blueprinted Ford Granada Essex 3.0 V6 and fitted a lovely deep button brushed dralon velour interior.
Biggin Hill Airport 1983
Here are some random magazine and book features from the early 80s :-)
Ran it for years and years rain, shine or snow, but eventually had to park it up for grown up stuff.
Anyhoo, now having to renew just about everything on the car due to the demon rust.
Opted for fibre glass on most panels due to shotblasters enthusiasm rendering the albeit rotten
remnants into buckled piles of junk.
It would've been quicker to get a minter and do the chop again!
Getting close to paint and currently tearing my hair out to go for either Ford Radiant Red or satin black.
It's a big decision as obviously all the panel inners and shuts will be that colour too and if satin black
goes outta fashion it'll be a whole heap of work tearing it back down again.
