I built this engine last year for my van but took it out again when I sold the van to use in another project. It had done less than 1000 miles.DSC_0048.JPGDSC_0052.JPG
Plans now changed.
1972 351w v8.
Block acid stripped and chemically cleaned internally.
Modified to be fitted with a lip type rear crank seal, so no worries about rear crank seal leakage.
Crank reground, mains and big ends.
Full engine internal balance.
New Hyperutectic pistons and ring set.
Double roller adjustable timing gear set.
New oil pump.
Comp cams duel energy 265Zdeh camshaft.
Comp cams lifters.
New Elelbrock I let manifold.
GT40p cylinder heads, ported.
New valve springs and retainers.
Pro comp roller rockers.
Pertronix ignition unit and adjustable ignition vacuum advance.
Engine runs great with lots of power. I can run it to demonstrate.
Starter and manifolds come with the engine.
I also have a good used water pump and crank pulleys.
Sump has been modified to hold more oil. Not the tidiest of jobs and the rivets that hold the original dipstick tube weep *very very slightly (I have silicone over the rivets which stopped it but now the engine is out it would be the ideal time to sort).
I want to keep the carb but have an emmision Holley 4 barrel that can go with it if wanted. I will have some other bits and pieces to go with it too.
