Mmmm yeah, probably trust their work aswel, especially when you know nothing about it and unable to judge good from bad. Good call. Cheers.

    Russ,

Just to add my 2p's worth and help you spend your money.

Why not look at a 5 speed of some description?

A t5 or even a dne 4+1 (with the right ratio) will give you all the go you want and still see you making good MPG.

I know I have gone on about this many times before but I ran a DNE 4 +1 with 29" tyres and a 3.25 gear. Got great mileage on a run and still turned a low 12.

80mph was the happiest for my combo, got about 18mpg combined at the last HRD's that was with a 300mile plus round trip and 10 plus passes on the strip.

I think it is just as important to have a matched combo as it is to just concentrate on rear end ratio.

You hav eto be careful of too tall an overal gearing ie overgeared for any particular road speeds can cause propshaft vibes that can cut through the pinion ( as happened with Matt Keys car in Sweden , a 700R4 gearing of approcx1700 a 70mph saw it shear).

Heres a couple of articles that explains the principle and problem.
