    34 roadster scratch built

    hi

ive going over my plan to build the roadster whch is happening after xmas when ive moved house

i did draw a plan to us IFS but ive been looking at the dropped i-beam with the wishbones going down the side it a much nicer looking front i dont want the leaf spring i was thinking along the lines of a torsion bar set up, thing is there bloody expensive so my question is has anyone ever made one from scratch it will be good to see pics and tech about it

a company called steve auto restorations in the usa has one but its top secret he build a wicked 33 roadster

iam trying to sort out my drawrings to scan them and put them on here for you lot to look at and give me any feed back.

thanks keep up the good work on all your projects

Do you mean torsion bars running longitudinally along the rails with links to the axle? I have seen that done before.
It's alot of custom work for not much benefit if hiding the spring is your main reason for doing it.
If you have the facilities to machine stuff it needn't be expensive.

There was an article in Street Rodder about how to build torsion bar suspension. I can't remember the edition and I gave all my old copies away but maybe someone on here can help
Money talks; unfortunately mine just says "goodbye"

Doesn't Fat Man Fabrication offer an IFS kit with the look of a live axle?
Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.
