350 small block

Hi all, any 350 gurus out there. I’ve been looking through a pile of paperwork that came with my trike. The original owner who ordered it from the US had a choice of engine stock 350 crate engine or the “ high performance ZZ3 ( this was in 95) He went for the stock 350 as stated on the invoice. Would anyone know the spec of a GM stock 350 1995/96 ?

i know the stock 78-82 350 sbc is from 185-200 hp and about 280-290 ftlb of torque at the crank with all the auxillaries i should imagen a 95 will be close to 220hp and 280-300 ftlb of torque with all the auxillaries

I contacted Boss Hoss with my VIN number to get the full spec of my engine. Turns out it was the cheapest option at the time (1996)
It’s a L81 that’s 190 BHP stock. I’m guessing it won’t matter what carb I fit is not going to light up the back end ??

500 edelbrock or a 600 holley..any more and your wasting your money..

190 hp is a trike will light up everything if you can get all the power down.

I run a stock gm350 in a car. Put a 500 edelbrock on.works really well

Any actual recommendations. There seems to be so many. Don’t want to buy new but there are plenty of old second had ones about some cheaper than others, Everyone says a 750 is too big for a stock 350 but that’s what GM put on it from new

May find those 750s were quadrejet carbs with real small primary's and monster size secondarys

a smaller carb will improve responsiveness at the expense of some power loss at higher rpm. economy should also improve. also if you can't light up the rear tyres on a trike with a 350 v8 either you're doing something wrong or there's something seriously wrong with the engine/box.

If you buy an old secondhand carb ask yourself why its old and secondhand..

To be honest I can now spin up the rear. Not too impressive with no LSD. The biggest issue when it comes to playing is twisting the throttle in one go to get the secondary’s open. I need to make a linkage that puts the cable closer to the throttle plate spindle. The q-jet has small primary’s and I can get about 28 mpg before the clean up
