    53 F100 wiper motor

Hello Chaps, has anyone had any experience of the workings of a 1953 F100 wiper motor? Mine seems to be weak but I sent it to a rewinds company and they said the motor is strong! the problem seems to be a little resistor made of wound wire that gets red hot! any advise would be great. Thanks, Andy.

I have the original 6V one from my '55 that I got going, but I think had trouble with the self parking or something. Anyway, I had to rewire the truck so made it 12V and used one from a Fiesta - a bit of messing around with brackets and levers, but fitted and ran fine.

You aren't putting 12V through it, are you?

The system is all 12v and the wiper motor is under the dash so its not original, thanks for your reply, it could be that I need to have a rethink.
