Will a stock width Mustang 8" axle fit under a Mk2 Zodiac ? or does anyone know the required axle width for 7 x 15 / 235x70x15 tyres

think it would need narrowing, maybe zephyrchris could get his tape measure out, his car has 7s and that sort of width tyre, backing plate gets very near to the lower spring plate...

I think it all depends on which one you go for ........... i think that you need one from the Mustang 11 range (the lil baby one) but not sure

The axle i had on mine when i was running 8.5x15 was off a stock Mk1 czz and ive just measured it to 49" and the back space of the wheel n tyre (LR60x15 255ish) is 5" and as you can see they fitted under the stock arches but were bloody close

I hope some of that helps

I already have a complete 8" from a 73 Mustang, therefore it's 5 stud, haven't managed to measure it yet, as it still sitting in the back of my mates pickup, I will be taking it to the garage Monday.
I think it's alot wider than 49" tho....

    Thanks anyway
