Thought id pull the diff from my axle and try n set up the pre load and adjust it so that i didnt have to put up with the ear splitting whine

Which i feel is the cause of the whine as you can actually open the crack up easily with your fingers so could only imagine the same would happen while trying to push the car along
Now the diff came from a 78 Lincon so i would guess maybe a big block and i know ive just rebuilt my enging BUT it is only a 305 so what would cause it to break ?????
