When you fit the manula choke conversion make sure all the autochoke mounts holes have a bolt in as one of them bleeds air into the mixture if it isn't amd makes it a swine to set up .

Just an update on the sticking on throttle....

Have now had the carb off and fitted a manual choke conversion (courtesy of kid morris, who has more patients than me). The conversion didnt fit straight on as per usual, but with his clever bit of fettling and adjustment he was there.
Start ups are now much better and I can control that fast idle etc.

Also when the carb was off checked the butterflies and screws..all was fine.

So along with the new throttle cable, improved pedal and position, 2 new earth straps and manual choke conversion and some more lubie and an engine kill switch...I hope its sorted now

So we took her out for a drive this evening and I tried to replicate the previous problem journeys near to home.....No problems occured Im glad to say..and all seemed fine, so I hope the sticking on throttle has now been finally cured...but only time will tell.

So if anyone has a water autochoke 38dgas weber, my recomendation is dump the autochoke.

Thanks for everyones imput on this thread, it all helps.

    RR.

Heres a pic of the manual choke conversion.

Don't you think the Beach Boys are boss?
