    any one know how to lower a jag irs

    hi, i have a ford pop with a jag axle on the bag, it sits rather high for my liking does any one know how to go about lowering them? cheers sparky

    Can you stick up a icture of yours as it is now ? Different way sof achieving lowering depending on hoiw it's set up now and how much you want to spend.

    A square on rear would show the angle of the shocks and driveshafts . However from that shot it's a pretty normal 70's build .The difficulty with lowering a Jag rear with shorter shocks is that the camber and tracking will need changing as well .
    If the rear end is really stiff and the car uses 4 shocks it's sometimes possible to just remove 1 from each side to give a better ride quality and lower at the same time.
    To get a perfect lowering you really need to move the whole axle up in the car that means major chassis mods.

    You could just let some air out of the tyres?

    Seriously though, I used softer shocks and old springs on mine, as new ones, (built to hold up the weight of a bleeding great Jaguar), were far too stiff.

    The other option to remove one set from each side works too.
    The clue is in the name

    is it safe enuf to remove 1 set from each side? sounds alot easey to do it that way
