Building a single 5.0 305 turbo set up. stock engine.
I have 2 turbos both brand new. the first i bought without doing my homework properly exhaust side AR 0.63 and inlet side AR 0.50 I have a turbo Beetle and thought this looked al lot bigger than my T2 turbo on the Beelte so thought it would be fine. Anyhow looking on several USA forums would appear the exhaust side was a bit small and I'd probably be making boost just off tickover with drawback of increased exhaust backpressure resulting in possible engine damage or overheating.
So I bought another with exhaust AR 1.32 and inlet AR 0.63m, now as you'd expect the exhaust housing (snail) is much larger but the inlet looks a lot smaller 30 - 40 mm on the diameter than the other turbo.
Both turbos are new and unused and Air research T4 type, so i'm wondering about swapping the larger in diamater inlet for the smaller inlet, as im not convinced its marked up correctly. I 'll post some photos later of the turbos.
