    Balance pipe?

Hi guy's going to split the headers on my 235 chevy,is there any point in putting a balance pipe in,never bothered with one before just wondered if it's worth the hassle?

Also want to run a pair of Smithy's,does anyone know who stocks em

    Cheers

Not sure a balance pipe would make a differance to power that you would notice on a strait 6, But they sound better split (no balance pipe) And re the Smithys First port of call would be Geordie Paul at Ducksville. When you get them fit them as far forword as you dare (I had them under the front seat area) with pipes running all the way to the back bumper. On my old '52 Chev with this pipe set up it purred on tick over but rassped like a banshee at the top of every gear. Loverly!

It's all in the name. The idea is to even out the pulses on the engine and help make it run smoooooother and provide added back pressure where and when it's needed.
No, you don't need them and you probably won't notice the difference

    :-)
