    'Barn find' cars

What is the legal situation of buying a car that has been in a barn/garage for decades and has no history of registration details, only a chassis number. Would it be possible to get it registered .The car is an old hotrod model T

Unlikely. If it were a "factory" car the relevant V765 list approved owners club would be able to offer advice and help. I don't know for sure, but IF it is based on an original un-modified chassis and has enough other parts to meet the minimum 8 points requirement, it might be able to be classed as a reconstructed classic?

Kapri will know for sure as I'm not all that clued up on the reconstructed classic category.

Firstly barn find in UK or US ?

If UK next question I'd ask myself is WHERE are the papers and WHY! Not unknown for identiies to be in use elsewhere.

If UK when you say 'old' ,how old do you mean ? Is it a GRP bodied 70s motor or an earlier tin version? 2 different answers likely dependent on what it is . If there's a chassis number tell us the first 2number sod letters , should give a clue to how it was registered originally.
