    Best orientation for fuel filter.

Those plastic, see-through fuel filters - are they happiest on their sides or vertical? If vertical then flowing downwards or upwards? Or does it make no difference at all?

I'm changing a carb/inlet set up so I have a blank canvas. The current set up isn't running right and it's just possible that the electric fuel pump isn't quite keeping up, so I want to give it any help I can give it through the orientation of the fuel filter.

Hi although not a Hot Rod i had a problem with fuel starvation on my 1800cc Caddy pick up, fitted a new manuel fuel pump made no difference, so bought a Facet electric pump fitted vertical near tank and also has micro filter attached to pump but on supply side from tank also fitted see through horizontal filter in engine bay as well. Solved my problem Weber carb was not getting enough supply and crap in tank was coming up the fuel line due to age getting up to carb, now goes like a rocket !
