    QuestionBIVA / IVA and door locks . . .

Is it permissible for door locks to be operative by remote control only, or does there have to be a manual override by key?

Can find no mention of this in the manual.

    Thank you

Well, if it's not mentioned that generally means they can't test it. Look at the new Fords where you only have to be near the car with the key in your pocket .Mot says you have to be able to open the doors from inside and out but doesn't say how .TVR, using SVA Low Volume test , used pushbuttons located in the mirrors.

The only thing I'd add based on loads of experience of electrically operated shaved doors is DON'T DO IT! LOL I ended up building in so many safeguards like access to battery or remote battery terminals plus manual overide in case solenoids failed etc etc that in the end it was quicker and simpler with a simpler shaved handle but manual release option.
