    Blower 6V71

Finally picked up a GMC blower I bought on US e-bay. However, what I have is a 6V71 with weird angled mounting , NOT a 6-71 with "conventional" 4 bolts each side. Otherwise seems the same.Just down to over enthusiasm and some mistaken assumptions!
Anyone seen one of these and how it can be mounted ? I'm ready to modify an edelbock ally manifold and weld a mounting plate to it. be great to hear from someone who has done this.
    Cheers, Si

I have one. Mine was built by Nigel at UK Blowers and then sold to a customer that did not use it. The customer went to a Chevy set up and so I bought the blower. Mine was set up for a Rover but Nigel is going to modify a 2 x 4 manifold to fit it onto my SBF. There's a few people had excellent results with them, the pumping capacity is a little smaller than a 6/71.

The mounting is 'as is' because they were designed to sit in V engines rather than alongside inline blocks.

A mate of mine has one on his SBC in a Camaro, it runs 10s so I'm guessing they're not too bad.

Edit. Just remembered he's on here but doesn't post too much, try PMing john tudor, he's always dead busy though.
How'd the weekend go? Well, at the moment it looks like a dolphin that's been caught in a boats propeller.

I built my old 34 with a 6v71, made and machined all the bits apart from the front cover, could dig out the build up pics if you like i would have thought there would be plenty of the blower, send me a pm if interested

Just reviving this thread, just getting stuck into this project. There must be a manuel with some exploded drawings etc around I would really appreciate some prior knowledge and experience, and of course sometechnical type pics. Seems easy enough to take apart once I got a gear puller, but cant get my head round swapping the rotors, why??? bit confused. Also need details on the the drive snout .Some one clever must have made one of their own before.I cant afford an expensive wieand drive kit I have access to lathe and mill. Appreciate ANY help, cheers Si
