    brake pedal length/ratio

im just about to mount the pedals, mk2 escort pedal box and cylinder

ideally i need to mount it few inches higher, if i mount it higher and make the pedal about 2" longer will this affect the brakes too much?

Nope, should be fine ,its shortening when the real issue start . Lengthening by 2" should only add about 10mm to actual pedal pad travel.

it'll give you extra leverage Scottie, so you can put your head into the screen, or, in the case of any of my old drum brake yanks, it would help make them try to stop in a.... sort of.... reasonable distance Like Kev says, the extra travel will be fine.

Drum braked yanks ,oh yeah, I remember trying to stop a 69 Firebird going full tilt once , bent the steering wheel pulling against it with both feet on the pedal
