whatever you get I would recommend chatting up a local engineering firm, most could calibrate for you to ensure accuracy, be worth dropping them a drink to do it.

Will do, I'm sure part of one of my old mate's job was calibrating measuring tools, will have to pop n see him. Also won a Moore and Wright dial bore gauge on ebay this afty for a good price .

I used to work for a large engineering firm, now self employed but still get some of my stuff calibrated occasionally by a mate who does calibration there just to make sure its ok.
