    c4 gear box problem

well my little coupe is naffing about agian
the gear box is a c4 with a b+m shift improver kit in the valve body (fitted by me that could have been a mistake lol)followed the instructions to the letter and ajusted the bands as it says in my chiltons book ,it now has a new modulator with new lines and the fluide level indicates its full ,
it also has an alloy tube +finned coolers with 1/4 hoses (i am going up these to 3/8ths hoses very soon )
so the problem is the shift from 2nd to 3rd the revs flare up by about 500 revs while just blobbing about and about 1000 rpm when you give the loud peddle ,ive redone the intermediate band adjustment still doing the same thing the servos are the originals i did take them appart to clean them whe the box was out last i would really like to fix this with out taking the box out as its a bit of a pain to get out lol
    cheers gents

what did you adjust the front band to? How many turns? is it a fine thread or coarse thread on the band adjuster? Fine thread requires 3 turns but you can go as low as 2.5 turns.Coarse is 1.5 turns.
If adjsutment doesn't cure it do you know that the direct clutch is ok? Intermediate servo seals? direct clutch sealing rings? intermediate band?

hi Andy ,Cheers for the reply .the band that ive done is the one in the photo with the kick down on it

the one at the rear next to the mod is the low band according to my book

i have noticed that this servo seams to be seeping fluid could this be faulty and can they be repaced?

could i be adjusting the wrong band?its the one my chiltons book said to do for this fault (tighten to 10ft/lbs then turn back out 1 3/4turns )
once its in gear theres no probs its just engaging 3rd when it flares
    your help is much appreciated

Yes you are correct. Front adjuster is intermediate and rear is low/rev band.
The servo has a gasket under the cover that can be changed.(did you replace it or even leave it off?
If it didn't flair before either the shift kit is installed wrong,or the feed holes are different in the plate that has uncovered an underlying fault that was there before...
You'll need to check it all over to find out what the problem is..let me know how you get on..
