    Camaro tpi diagnostics

    Does anyone know anyone in the Southampton/ Portsmouth area that has the ability to diagnose a TPI issue on an 86 Camaro 305 engine that will not start when up to temperature please?

    Can't think of anyone locally that's likely to have the correct equipment .


    The only change you've made to the wiring is petrol pump straight off ignition and rest of loom and parts location per standard?

    Is it just when you turn it off Alan or does it misfire or any other symptoms before it won't start ? How long does it have to run before it won't start again? Will it stop and start OK UNTIL it gets warm? and( almost) lastly did you get to check the injection noids both when starting from cold and when it won't start ?

    Sparks at plugs when it won't start ,just to point if more likely to be fuel than electrics switching ? If sparks there have you tried squirting fuel down the air filter ?

    I would also suggest a reader to diagnose it yourself. Are you a member of Thirdgen.org, huge 82-92 Camaro/Firebird forum

    Thanks everyone. It runs and starts fine until I turn it off with the key. When I try to restart it just won't fire unless I give it a squirt into the plenum and then she'll fire a few times and start.
    Plugs have good spark hot and cold and injectors have constant 15 ohm both hot and cold, but no light when cranking.
    The cold start injector has 3 ohm constant.
    Dizzy if cos I have replaced everything inside and to be sure even swapped distributors with my 89 corvette engine and still has the same problem.

    Good fuel pressure throughout 42psi.

    Just no injector pulse when cranking.

    ECU?

    Really good forum and I have also used Chevy Thunder in the past.. Some great info there too.

    Does it start if cold ,ie start run for about a min from cold then stop then start does it then run .Also what is oil pressure when hot.
