    Looks like Rover P6 3500S.

The cast alloy bit on the top thats broken should be about a foot longer with the gearlever at the rear. The lever works a shaft, and there is a finger that sits between the selector rods.

    Hope this helps.

P6 water pump fits the SD1 motor OK. Unless you're OK with engineering work you'll need the proper replacement casting for the remote on your gearbox though. Might be worth trying the local banger racers for the ccasting, they used to race a lot of P5 & P6Rovers.

That gearbox is from a P6B 3500S (1972-77) and TBH was a very weak box as it was developed from the Rover 2000 box so the extra grunt available from the V8 meant it went to the dentists far too easily. The problem you would have now is that the main problem is stripping the teeth off the laygear, which is NLA, and hasn't been for about 20 years.
IMHO you'd be far better to find an LT77 5 speed from an SD1, as that is a more reliable box, and the one that gets put in the P6B's when the box you have there expires.
