Changing timing for different octane values?

Just a thought, unless I am mistaken most US vehicles are run on 87 or 91 RON unleaded. Being as 95 is the premium over here, has anyone looked into, or adjusted their timing (to suit)? Differences in benefit between Carb'd engines and injected ones?

The American's use a different method to calculate octane value so you'd first need to work out how their octane value related to ours.
