    Chassis

As a follow on from my Photoshop post I have now drawn out some layout lines for my proposed chassis for a 100e. This will be made of 80 x 40 x 3mm box tube with a 42 x 3 mm tube at the front, rear and one over the rear axle for the shock mount. Can any of you better informed see anything that is a no no or anything I should include that I have left out? I know there is no trans mount shown but one will be included. And finally what the best way to attacth the car boy to the finished chassis ? Running gear to be 360 smallblock ,727 trans and ford 9 inch axle.

nothing wrong with what youve drawn.
you could just run youre front rails the same distance apart to the rear and use say 40x40 for the outside parts.

    body joining.

you could weld a strong plate onto the inner seals and and bolt through the outriggers to this.
or bolt down from above into the outriggers or do a frame inside the shell that all the floor and tubs fix to and bolt this to the chassis or just weld the shell to the chassis.

lots of ways to do it depending if you want the body to come of or not .

things like this are sometimes left till youre ready to fix the body on.
without a chassis to look at youre kinda guessing.

you need to aproach the build of youre car in a certain order.

befor you build youre chassis ,you need to do a few things so you dont do lots of stuff twice.

go get youre rear end narrowed, then gut youre car of its floorpan.

mock youre body up with the rear end under it at a ride height youre happy with.
block youre engine/box up and front wheels roughly where there going to go.allow enough room for rad and fans.

then build youre chassis to suit all the components.

befor you get youre rear end narrowed again maybe best to mock the wheels up so you can get the measurement spot on.
