Have a good look at the tailshaft bearing in the box as well. If its a TH350 you can take the tailshaft off with 4 bolts. The vibrations could easily have damaged the bearing as its only a white metal one.

With regards the engine angles, if you set the carb flat at ride height this should have left your gearbox tail flange at 3 degrees down (std inlet manifold angle). Your rear axle UJ flange should then be 3 degrees upwards. There is a bit of leeway but that's what you should be aiming for.

well its job done for me on that issue , im still peeved at the guy who built it as they where really cheap u/j's
i drove it down the bypass and it sat at 80 with no vibration (not that ill prob ever drive it that fast again ) but its nice to know its vibration free BUT
i rekon i pulled some crap in to the carb as its not happy now
unless i keep the revs up it dies and dont re start well
    its a edelbrock 500 cfm
ill pull it apart once the rain stops
does anyone have a how to so i can set up the mixture after , i do have a vacuum gauge

Great news Darren!! I'm glad you found the vibration problem was, in reality, an easy fix. I have 2 plastic in-line fuel filters in mine and they work very well! Both lay at horixontal so the crap falls to the bottom. Mind, not seen any for a very long time!
If I wasn't meant to go that fast, the pedal would only go half way!
