    coil overs and ride height

I could do with raising the rear end of the rod up by a couple of inches. I have leaf springs and wondered if I could remove the shocks and fit coil overs to get the height I want?

Yes if you removed the leaf and shocks and swapped for coilovers you could adjust the coilovers to get your ride height exactly how you want it

You could but the ride will be harder, can you not raise the leaf mounting points.

I cant raise the mounting points. As for a harder ride.....a bit harder wont hurt and I'm guessing that when the coils are fitted the leaf springs wouldn't be doing much other than acting as locators......?

You could have the springs rerolled ,or another pair made that would give you the height you need. Even slightly longer spring hangers and shackles would do it.

Personally I wouldn't use the coilovers with the leafsprings. Too little direct location will put even more load on the coilovers in the wrong planes.

Take your existing leaf springs out and get them re-arched for a 2" lift,
job done with same ride quality, you may need to reposition the shock mounts though due to the ride height now higher.
