Russ, it's not specific to Veedub set ups but is more of a "How to" as far as Dell'orto products are concerned.
Quad carbed V8 would be the same principles as I described above...just may take longer to do! ;-)
Yorkster, found this tucked away in my favourites :-
Just checked with Dellorto and they confirmed that the base setting is 2.5 turns out.
Better wind mine back in then... curse that interweb.
You were of course - right as usual Kev.
The priciples may be the same, but unless you are an octopus i guess trying to blip 4 carbs with one hand and adjust the mixture and idle screws with the other may prove a bit difficult.
Seriously i was just curious as to how in depth the book went. Pesonally i have found a carb balancer and a colour tune have been the best way forward for me, just a bit long winded.
Keep toying with the idea of changing them over for a 390 Holley to make life simpler and better fuel consuption.
as for simpler, once they're set up, with a decent throttle linkage, you shouldn't need to mess about with them. I found when running DCOEs that the best money I ever spent was on the genuine weber linkage; it looks crap, but I never needed to touch the carbs again.
Your right Avenger , I always hear people moaning about their carbs going out of tune , it's more likley to be slack linkages or electrical problems . If you use electronic ignition that halves the possible problems straightaway.
