Find someone who has a Twini Moke and have a peek at the their V5, there must be a precedent out there somewhere!

Like with any firm or any company, it depends who you deal with and how much they know about their own systems

In short, I have changed many an engine (and recently) with no problems

I have sent in the details with the engine number and size etc and also a confirmation from my insurance of acceptance of change. Got my V5s no probs.

I had an old SD1 engine lying around that went in to a Pop not long ago and no problems with the V5

If DVLA give you a hard time, write to the manager and the fact that you have sent all the correct details etc means you have done your bit so they would be hard pressed to fine you and win any court case on it

Good luck, you are just delaing with a job's worth but don't rub them up the wrong way or they'll dig their heels in - human nature

Sent a polite letter of explanation to the manager and see what happens
If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem

In real world terms, my mate swapped the 4 for the 6, I bolted it up, and thats that???

So, DVLA will want to inspect the pop???

    Yeah right...

I supplied them with a receipt of the engine gave serial number and persons detail who I bought it of an no issues at all. From what I understand it's to combat the stealing of engines etc etc...

That is still correct, you just have to keep reminding DVLA of their own policies.

I am just about to notify dvla about fitting a bigger engine but my engine has no number stamped on it, they are supposed to have a pressed metal tag bolted to the engine. This appears to have disappeared tears ago, is this likely to create a problem

I'd have a good search under your bench, I'm sure you could find the tag if you look hard enough

finding the metal tag is not the problem, just trying to ensure is has the correct engine code relevant on it.

Ah, if you don't have the correct number than I'd think it could well be a problem.
