When I had glass doors in my 56 sliding windows were the answer. Horizontal double felt channel top and bottom. Rectangle of perspex glued onto perspex windows as a handle. No reason why you could not do the same with glass.

I may have but will have to search later today. Don't think I have a detail shot. The felts were just fixed to aluminium channel running fore and aft and you could sikkaflex the top one in but leave the bottom removable to fit the windows.

Marvolous idea thanks for that. Save on weight as well and I can get a fully open window nice one.
