You should choose a torque converter at the same time as the cam. What is the new cam and current stall speed?

The cam is a Lunati Voodoo cam that's all I know (I do have a chart for this cam) its ticking over at around 1000rpm in park/neutral but in gear it will stall, the chap I got the car from said I should get a 3000 stall converter but I thought I need to know the torque of the motor first? I'm no mechanic so sorry for the blunt reply.

Can you dig out the details? There will be durations figures both absolute and at 0.050 for both inlet and exhaust.

With that in mind it will give you an idea of what to get before you pay money out for a professional opinion. It does sound like there is too much cam for the converter, the only work around is to tune it in drive and accept a high idle speed in neutral.

Yeah. 245 and 255 is a reasonably tough cam. It suits a setup and use that is up for a nice high rev. You will need to ring it's neck a bit to get the best out of it. Otherwise it will be flat as a kippers tit. You have get in to the mid range before it wakes up.

Got any more info on the engine and car? Does it have performance parts like high compression heads, good intake etc?
