    Fan belt ?

Got all new pulleys on my SBC, what width belt do I need ? Most popular belt width on the web is 0.440 or 11.17mm. Nearest metric equivalent is 10mm / Z profile ? Should I just stick a 10mm belt on it or am I overthinking it ?

You need SPZ profile belts. Measure the length you need and order here; https://www.bearingstation.co.uk/pro...ts/SPZ_Section

10mm is too small. it'll bottom in the pulleys and slip if not now then after just a small amount of wear. been there done that.
need a job done on your project? i may be able to help.

done 2500 miles on my SPZ profile belt and not bottomed out - read it properly and they are not deep belts for this reason, but crucially they are the correct angle for american pulleys. We use these belts in our work machines too - they run from 6-8 hours a day stop start and we never change them and they never slip.

as has been said, the belt you need is different angle to uk spec fan belts so its important to get the correct belt.

issue I have is I have three pulleys which are chevy / US spec (crank, w/p and alt) and I need to drive a Capri power steering pump which I assume is an ISO spec pulley ?. So would an SPZ profile suffice for mismatched pulleys / US spec pulleys ? or should I be looking at a Saginaw (Chevy) PS pump ?

Try it and see? belts are cheap so if it works ok then job done, if it slips then get the pully re-machined for a US spec taper?

belts wont last long if the pulleys are not the same, if the pulley on the PS pump is removable you could get one made with the correct V if not a pump with the correct pulley will be the easiest option.
