Look at the top of the chassis rail, just in front of the bulkheadgoing towards the front suspension. It is stamped direct into the metal, not on a plate, cannot remember whether it is drivers or passengers side. I believe if you have the original engine number, it is the same as the chassis number

I'm presuming that it currently doesn't have a number and you are hoping to get DVLA to issue one?

Ben, you will need to look hard cos sometimes they can be very faint. I'm assuming that the chassis is unmolested?

Is the small square black and silver engraved Ford ID badge still rivetted to the firewall? If so, check this number with the engine number? If they are the same then you might be in luck. Assuming of course that you have the engine and its original.

    ok will do.

no it doesn't have the id badge which worrys me a little as i guess it could of once been scrapped or stolen once.

pretty sure the engine is original and the chassis doesn't appear to have been tampered with over the years.

the car its self is in a fairy bad way but im not fussed over this as most of it will get stripped out and replaced with other parts.

Thats a shame...prob someone else has used the tags and the numbers for their Pop. Dont think you would get an age related plate as you wold not be restoring it back to original...then you could go through the sidevalve owners club.

Kev (Kapri) will be able to help you more with that info

well thats plan B, if i cant find the legit chassis number then it will be a original restoration rather then hot rod resto.

i really dont know how the rules and guide lines work on age related plates so some down to earth dumbed down info would be much appreciated
