    Fuel Pumps - Quietest

The 5th mechanical fuel pump has died on my trike and they just don't seem to make decent OEM ones anymore so I want to change over to an electric/electronic one.

The obvious one is an SU because it is fitted with an SU carb - but they're a bit expensive. I was looking at Facet pumps but I understand that the cube is noisy all the time - is this true? What about the Silver Top interrupter? Is that quieter?

Also, has anyone tried the Quinton Hazell SU pattern pumps for £45? Are they any good?

BTW I need a low pressure pump and anything that will flow more than 12 gallons per hour is more than good enough.

    Hi Blackjack,

the lo pressure Facet I had under a car could be heard tat tatting on start up, once pressured up it went a bit quieter, but you could still deffo hear it.

With an SU carb, I'd go for an SU pump. The small Facet Pumps tick all the time and I think you'd probably need a pressure regulator with any of the bigger Facet pumps as SUs don't like to see too much fuel pressure.
